SIKHUPE – Eswatini has officially unveiled Phase One of its new diplomatic lounges at the King Mswati III International Airport, completing a critical link in the Kingdom’s high-end tourism and conference infrastructure.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Senator Pholile Shakantu, hosted Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini for an exclusive tour of the facility today, just moments before his departure to Kenya.
The “Palazzo” Connection
The Prime Minister emphasized that these lounges are not just about luxury; they are a strategic necessity. As Eswatini prepares to host a surge of international summits at the newly opened Ezulwini Palazzo International Convention Centre (ICC), the airport now offers a secure, dignified transition for arriving global dignitaries.
”These lounges will complement the Ezulwini Palazzo ICC,” the Prime Minister noted, expressing optimism about welcoming global delegates to the Kingdom’s “First World” facilities.

Senator Shakantu highlighted that the project aligns Eswatini with international law standards regarding the treatment of diplomats.
