In a powerful demonstration of “Execution Over Theory,” the capital city is preparing to transform Dr. Sishayi Road into a living local superstore. Curated by A Peculiar People, the 2026 edition of the Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair has officially been rescheduled to Friday, 1st May 2026.
This strategic move aligns the nation’s premier “Buy Local” platform with the Ruby Jubilee of His Majesty King Mswati III, creating a historic intersection of national pride and economic empowerment.
The 2026 launch has been headlined by an unprecedented surge in public engagement. Princess Sakhizwe recently announced a landmark initiative to spotlight the Kingdom’s most beloved entrepreneurs.

Following a massive public campaign that saw over 200,000 votes cast via MTN MoMo, 25 award-winning local brands have been granted free exhibition space. By covering these participation costs, the initiative ensures that the brands the public truly loves are given center stage, regardless of their budget size.
The momentum is undeniable. While the 2025 pilot was a success with 141 MSMEs, the 2026 fair has seen registrations more than double to 309 exhibitors.
To understand the 2026 hype, we must look at the 2025 legacy. The inaugural event proved that “Local” means “Quality.”
The Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair is the ultimate litmus test for our national economy. With 309 exhibitors and the backing of over 200,000 voter signals, the message is clear: The “Buy Local” culture has moved from a slogan to a lifestyle.
